Ciriac Alvarez Valle is passionate about advocating for children’s issues especially around immigrant families, juvenile justice, and public health. Her background in direct action, community organizing, digital organizing, and spoken word poetry has and continues to inform the work she does. She has used her personal and professional experiences to work on policies centering the leadership of impacted communities, including people of color. Ciriac currently works as a Policy Analyst at Voices for Utah Children and graduated with a B.S. in Political Science and Sociology from the University of Utah. Her work at Voices for Utah Children is focused on children’s health coverage, community health workers, immigrant families, and juvenile justice. She is an undocumented immigrant with DACA who was born in Cuernavaca Morelos, Mexico and has called Salt Lake City home for almost twenty years.
